Sober Living
22 Jun 2007
I hated sober living. Loathed it. Spent every minute of every hour I was enrolled in a sober living program wishing it were over. And when it was done…when it was finished, and I went on my way…I’d never been so grateful for anything in my entire life.
Sober living works because it’s hard. If it were, it’d be pointless. Sober living, after all, is about responsibility, and personal growth; the sober living patient who benefits most from his sober living experience is the one who learns the most about himself as a Sober Agent in the real world. Like it or not, that learning isn’t…can’t be…easy. If you’re going to get better, you’re going to have to work for it.
